Let me start off this rant by saying I hate winter and I hate any one who likes winter. I think that pretty much says it all. The people here in Nashville have no idea how to drive on ice or snow so as soon as it starts falling they all herd towards the grocery store to get milk, bread and eggs. I call it snow food, they do not want to be stranded with out those three things, it may be all they have in the house but the can make french toast and scrambled eggs, I guess they will not starve unless the power goes out and they can not cook, then that is another rant to come later on.
This week is a big week for me and my football teams. Vanderbilt really needs to beat Tennessee today and I really need Oklahoma to come big and beat Texas Tech. The wins would make it very interesting for bowl games and in the case of Oklahoma a big factor in making it to the national championship game against Alabama unless LSU beats the Tide in the SEC Championship game later on. Confused? Well so am I. Let us just hope all of my teams win today and then we can sort it out later on.
Back in the 80’s the adult night scene was either fern bars, piano lounges, or honky tonks. Now the trend is to have theme bars. I think the trend started with the Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywod type venues. Now I see bits and pieces of publicity for different bars, like the new one in L.A. that is called Saints and Sinners. Half of the bar is red and black and the other half is blue and white. I wonder if anyone even goes over to the “saints” side? That’s not exactly why people go to bars, now is it? LOL
With their 24-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars today the Tennessee Titans have run their undefeated streak to 10 games. They are sitting very pretty in the AFC South race and it looks like the road to the Super Bowl runs through Nashville. Home playoff games are a huge advantage and it looks like we will have two home playoff games and the way the team is playing right now, Katy Barr the Door! Look out Tampa here come the Titans.
One TV show that we really enjoy watching is the Amazing Race we set aside every Sunday to be able to sit on the couch with all of the dogs in attendance and watch this great show. We have been fans since the show started and will until it ends. The contrast between the pairs of races is so amazing, I love to see who can handle the pressure and who wilts under pressure. I think we would be a great pair for the race but I am sure we would keep the censors very busy, and that would be a test of how we do work together. I can not wait for next weeks race and I am starting the countdown right now.
